Khemara S. Nhann, Arts and Culture Director, Mekong NYC
Khemara S. Nhann is a Co-Founder and the Arts and Culture Director of Mekong NYC. He has been a community organizer with almost 20 years of experience working with Southeast Asian refugees and poor/working-class communities nationally, and internationally. He is responsible for overseeing all arts and cultural programming at Mekong NYC, including fundraising activities, partnerships with other arts organizations & institutions, cultural events like Lunar New Year, Cambodian New Year, music classes, the Summer Intergenerational Program, and the Women Circle. He traveled to Cambodia as part of the US delegation for the #righttoreturn campaign, working with Southeast Asian organizations throughout the nation to fight the unjust detention and deportation of formerly incarcerated refugees.
