Allison Shillingford, Executive Director, Navigate the Maze
Allison Shillingford has dedicated over a decade supporting Black and Latino students in obtaining a high-quality education. In 2010, she established Navigate the Maze, an educational consultancy company that assisted families in Bedford-Stuyvesant through the private school enrollment process and helped their children obtain admission into some of the best independent schools in NYC. She founded Navigate the Maze to Achievement in 2016 to holistically build academic pathways for underrepresented Black and Latino students seeking to enter specialized and selective high schools in NYC, students who otherwise would not have exposure to these opportunities. Ms. Shillingford received her BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University and an MA in Oral History from Columbia University, focusing on education and race.
